Equine Epigenetic Mapping allows Epixhorse to evaluate over 800 different performance indicators in horses. By assessing the indicators, this advanced scanning technology determines whether levels are normal, too high or too low. A highly detailed, 26-page report is generated for every horse, along with a one page summary. The summary will determine which items need to be removed from the horse’s diet and which feeds and supplements should be added and the level of urgency that the recommended changes should be made.
Mane and tail hairs are threads of fused, dead, keratinized cells, but the hair bulb is the bulb-shaped structure at the base of the hair follicle. Each hair bulb includes several layers of different types of cells that extend up through the hair follicle, a region of cells called the germinal matrix and an indentation called the papilla of the hair (which contains the many blood vessels that supply nutrients to nourish the growing hair).

The information contained within the hair bulb is digitally processed and sent via a secure internet connection to our powerful super-computer systems which map the over 800 key indicators, then create the charts and tables which make up the complete report.
